National ASMC Training Opportunities

  • Course offerings provide training requirements for all three certification levels

  • 83 total OUSD(C) web-based courses

  • Courses launch directly in FM LMS and automatically record to your scorecard

  • Courses also available through the FM myLearn catalog on FM Online (available to all military/civilians with a CAC)

  • Live, virtual classroom allows direct interaction between students and instructors.

  • Current FM Certification Program participants are eligible.

  • Limit: Effective June 30, 2021, students will be limited to the greater credit option of either 30 CETs or a total of 2 courses per calendar year

  • Courses are 4-24 hours long

Provides 20 different professional education courses including Defense Resources Management; Data Analytics; Human Capital Resources Management; Risk Management; and other financial and resources management courses.

Target audience: Military (US and international, Active and Reserves) O-3 to O-6; Defense civilians GS-09 through GS-15 or equivalent; enlisted with bachelor’s degree E-7 to E-9; and individuals participating in accelerated career development programs.

Certification credits: CPEs and CETs granted for nearly all courses; graduate education credit for two courses upon passing tests.

Delivery method: Virtual, In residence, or PDI, by request on-site for commands.

Budget Line of Business (BLoB) is a partnership between the Department of Education Program Management Office, the Budget Systems Branch at the Office of Management and Budget, and over two dozen Partner Agency budget offices focused on developing solutions to complex budget issues.

  • Students receive one (1) credit toward initial certification or Continuing Education Training (CET) requirement​

  • U.S. Chief Financial Officer Academy (CFOA) offers graduate-level courses and services for middle-to senior-level personnel in the government financial management

  • community to prepare them to create and lead 21st century government organizations

  • Financial Management Occupational Needs include:

    • 0501 Financial Administration 

    • 0510 Accounting

    • 0511 Auditing

    • 0560 Budgeting

  • Length of deployment: ~12 mos

  • Components identify civilians with a high level of performance, professionalism, and expertise for deployment assignments

  • Offers unique deployment opportunities for DoD civilians to support contingency operations development.

  • Participants advance their breadth of knowledge and experience by being immersed in a different organizational environment.

  • Participating organizations benefit from improved effectiveness, through exposure to best practices and alternate FM solutions.

  • Each assignment improves the participant’s understanding of joint operations, systems, and relationships

  • Provides the participant with a better understanding of the larger operational environment; and increases understanding of various individual roles in support of the DoD FM mission.
